BTW, Dada's barechest celebration has been criticized/misunderstood by many. 6 months before that famous Natwest finals, England played an ODI series in India.. India was leading 3-1 but England came back strongly to win both the last matches. In the last match at Mumbai, after Flintoff clean-bowled Srinath to win an 'edge of the seat' thriller by 5 runs off the penultimate ball of the match, he removed his shirt and ran around the ground.. Obviously he was thrilled (did u see that match?) Can you imagine how Flintoff would be topless, in early 2002?
Ganguly and Flintoff were teammates when Ganguly spent a short stint with Lancashire. Apparently Ganguly behaved as if he is the Maharajah of India, and he was highly indisciplined. Almost nobody liked him, esp. Flintoff. So, they had a bitter rivalry running for months already. It got flared up by the Flintoff celebration.
When Zaheer Khan hit the winning runs off Flintoff to win the Natwest finals (which was the only tournament Ganguly has won, and also there was the finals jinx with India for sometime), he decided it was a payback time, removed his shirt and did the repeat of what Flintoff did, also mouthing F-words..
Though it was unbecoming of an Indian captain, it was an awesome match and a revenge-of-sort for Ganguly.. so I understood the intensity of his emotions.. :-)

Well.. nothing special about HJ.. He was the only MD to give two blockbuster hits this year, I liked the songs of both the movies.. Though 'Kannum kannum' is not anywhere near the top, somehow it got into my head one day and, you know, my brain was in the 'murderous' mood.. :-) ------------------------------------------- Sarathy, thanks..
raju... i can understand the celebrtaions of ganguly, and i know abt. the ganguly-flintoff cold-war too... and my comment was not to be taken in a sarcastic sense... when i thot of celebrations thats what came to my mind... flintoff's celebration didn't and rightly so... :-)
