That pretty much sums up the events of my day so far..
First, got up early in the morning to watch the Ind-NZ one-day match, first time full-access LIVE video on my laptop.. Saw the score 145/7 and wow.. cool.. Made them all out for 216 in 43 overs... coolagain.. and then Oh God!! How does this Indian team bat like this.. Jai and Irfan gave some hope but then when Bond returns, wont his enemies bite the dust? God, send Sachin soon..
Today is Janmashtami in US, though it is tomorrow in India.. Reason? According to one Prabhuji here, it is due to the time difference.. we are in different location on the globe, you see.. Anyway, Happy Birthday Krishna!! I remember you a lot today.. I remember my good old days when Janmashtami meant lots of mouth-watering items. Smooth thenkuzhal, rough thenkuzhal, salt seedai, sweet seedai, thattai and murukku.. mmm.. I miss you all a lot..
Then went to have 'Krishna Lunch' hoping to get something special.. nay.. nothing special.. But, god, esp. Krishna helps us a lot by serving lunch every working day, right in front of our building.. Thank you god, for that (atleast).. I appreciate you..
Came back after lunch and saw that Hoggard (he spells synonym to Oh God, doesnt he?) had taken three top-order Aus wickets to help Aus looking down the barrel at 99/5.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend, friends !!

Hi Padmanabhan,
landed at your blog from soneone else's-thanks for sharing your Janmashtami thoughts with the blog community. I too have posted my share of ideas on this Gokulashtami day....
omg India sucked big time this first game. Thanks to Yadav, and Pathan's half centuries atleast INdia reached more than 100, otherwise, it would have been even more of a shame. seriously, wat is happening with India. I cannot blame Dravid, i have to blame Sehwag, and Ganguly.
Deepak, amam.. parthadhum veruthuttenn.. Idharkagathan kaathirundhaya Balakumara-nnu ennaiye kettundenn.. About ur Zim comement, I too agree.. You know what Ganguly said before leaving to Zim? "If we play to our full potential we can beat Zimbabwe" !?!?!?
I thought he was mentioning about the test series, since we have never won there.. Prem was asking why he has to say like that (in the context of ODI's)..I think, at this rate, if we defeat Zim, that would be an achievement for us..
Mitr, enna foto!! As soon as I entered your blog, I saw those fresh, delicious-looking seedais and thenkuzhal.. mmmm.. Mouth-watering.. idhu gnayama? Will visit ur blog this weekend for an elaborate look..
Nitin, sure it did.. the funny part was, in the morning, when NZ was 5 down for 35, the lowest NZ scores were being flashed.. And in the afternoon, when we batted, and 44/8, the nightmare was going to come true.. Somehow we managed those hundred extra runs.. We still had chance when Bond came back.. we could have seen him off and won the game.. Irfan got over-confident with his 50 and he wanted to have a go at his rival fast bowler.. Sad he lost his cool brain at that juncture..
Deepak.. about the Aus state, it mirrors one of my earlier posts (http://gpwebdiary.blogspot.com/2005/06/from-dominance-to-downslide.html). They look terrible when McGrath doesnt play a match.. suddenly Gillespie was out of form.. and now they are struggling to put up 3 decent fast bowlers... The signs of overdependency was always there.. whenever he doesnt play, the opposition usually makes merry.. This is known for atleast the past two years.. Still, the Aus board hasnt thought about what would happen when he retires.. and similar case for shane Warne too.. may be they would bring in Stuart McGill but he is no Warne in bowling tight.. They have few good bowlers like Nathan Bracken and Andy Williams who havent bowled at all after the India series in early 2004. They could have been nurtured along with McGrath but I think it is too late.. With the bowling so weak, opposition piles up 400+ scores consistently and that puts pressure on the batsmen too.. Only a miracle (or rain) can save Aus from defeat in this match...

Aparna and Vis, yeah lucky for sure.. the ISKCON of Gainesville do a great service to us by providing nice healthy veggie lunch when school is open.. Though tastewise different American way, still nice.. Everyday eating that food while listening to the Hare Krishna songs by the devotees.. Nice friendly people..
There is a small temple (in a home) about 5 min. walk from my work place..
