Bond - Strange Bond

IMHO, Mallu-Mallu interaction and Bong-Bong interaction are very strong. Among the weakest would be Tamil-Tamil interaction.. what say you?

very true....mallu bonding is the strongest...i live in delhi, here tamils look at each other as strangers..and they are afflicted with indian crab syndrome (orruthan munnerna avan kalai innurthan pudichuu keela izhurthuvan)
any historical background for this solidarity??????

Hmm..
Namma kitta ego/superiority complex irukunu nenaikaren..and has more to do with the caste (no offence meant)even when u speak the same language ,but at a distant land..

..Personal observations ::KK

Ram, I think the reason could be the enormous pride they have in hailing from Kerala and Bengal, respectively.. Less the pride, weaker the bond..
---------------------------------------------------------

Vatsan, oops.. sorry.. problem solved.. Andha seithi naayai rediff-le irundhu suttenn.. Thappu thappu.. adhaan thee nari use pannumbodhu kadichuduchu..

Uma, Welcome here!! I witnessed the mallu bonding last weekend, which prompted me to write this post.. Indha kaalai pidichu izhukkuradhu, mudhugule kuthuradhu ellam sadly observed nammavanga kitte..

As I said to Ram, I think the pride has something to do with it.. If you talk to malayalis, they say "Tamil is very similar to malayalam" and even "malayalathile irundhu vandhadhudhan Tamil"...

"Tamizhan endru sollada thalai nimrndhu nillada" endra unarvu namakku varanum..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Balaji, somehow Rhythm miss ayiduchu.. I will see it soon.. :-)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

KK, welcome here!! Ego for sure.. sup. complex, without regionalism, undu..

Even among the same caste (I specifically refer to the interactions among Tamil Brahmins), the bonding is weak..
:-(

We are the weakest link!
Does it have to do with the various dialects we have? For we keep making fun of the other!

Raju said...

Aparna, weakest-ne decide pannitteengala? Sad..

I agree with you about our different dialects..

ram said...

Yes, I agree self pride is very much essential to keep together. I guess as we slowly lose discipline, we lose repetition/reproducibility and thus self pride. Fianlly there will be no credibility among us. We should be disciplined. The discipline at matured level is culture. When we lose culture obviously everything is lost.

Raju said...

Ram, IMHO, more than lack of discipline, reproducibility, etc., it is the sense of 'belonging' to the region that makes the difference. Tamils excel very well in pretty much all aspects of science and technology.. Somehow, they dont feel so proud of saying they are tamils.. The reason, in the recent times could be a) our state's resistance to Hindi which most of us dont like but can do nothing about; b) No surnames, so our names are just 'hanging'; c) LTTE and Rajiv murder; d) Actors-turning politicians ruling us for most part of the last 3 decades.
