Happy Deepavali !!

Deepavali means
Biggest festival
Excitement (counting days)
Holidays
New dresses
Lotsa fireworks (shopping and bursting)
Gangasnanam
Great food
Special programs on TV
Blessings from elders.

Now, replace 'means' by 'meant'.. yeah.. that is how Deepavali was celebrated year-after-year until a few years ago by me.. I am sure most of you in India still enjoy all these.. *SIGH*.... Luckily no 'project meetings' atleast tomorrow.. So let me hope to have some fun..

Happy Diwali Wishes to all of you, my friends !!

Narayanan, Well said.. sometimes I wish things dont change with time. I very much wished to continue my Deepavali celebrations the same way as before.. Before the satellite TVs came in, Diwali was just crackers, sweets, dresses and DD... Slowly TV took the major chunk of time.. then the competition from TVs resulted in the remote-control-fight b/w siblings.. :-) Now I feel very free without the TV channels..

Thanks and Wish you too a very happy Deepavali!!

Belated happy Deepavali wishes
Belated wishes to all the bloggers

I went home for this deepavali and could not blog.

I have stopped firing crackers few years back as somewhere I read lot more children are working for making crackers. What do you think about my decision? Still I could see somewhere children working on tea stalls, hotels, houses, lodges etc.,

Raju said...

Ram, thanks for ur wishes.

Your decision is overall good, weighing both pros and cons. Pro is obvious.., as you mentioned.. For the con-side, one can say that those kids atleast would get food, so, what we buy feeds them as well.. But, looking at the bigger picture, child labor should be eradicated.

Happy Diwali to you and all others. Such a great post on Diwali festival. Really good eyecatching pictures of Diwali celebration.Diwali is a major festival of india. Diwali, the festival of light, and one of the biggest festivals of Hindus is celebrated with much enthusiasm by the Indians, whether they reside in India or in some other part of the world. But it is also true that Diwali remain incomplete without exchange of Diwali Gifts. But it is not possible for NRI People to meet relative and family on Diwali festival. So, they send online diwali gifts to india to their relative and loved one.
