Chemistry and people

As far as chemistry as the subject is concerned, I have come up largely with two sections of people: Those who love chemistry and those who hate it. This holds especially true with organic chemistry.. :-)

man chemistryyyyyyyyyy.that was one damn good subject.loved it in my 12th std.but it's been 3yrs and most of the equations are now nothing more than a distant dream.

Ah, Chemistry! All I remember is my 10th Std Chemisty lab where wearing a coat and identifying salts would make us feel like Scientists!!!
Nowadays, the only time I see/use this word is between a hero/heroine of movies!! LOL!!

Deepak, LOL.. I did my Ph.D. in a department which was "Inorganic and physical chemistry" but I did mostly organic and little of phy. chem.. :-)

Prabhu, mm.. cool..
Thanks for that site..

Paurna, I know that all you software people (engineers) would (have to) love chemistry.. since that is a must to get good marks in Class 12.. I made the remark on others.

Aparna, mm.. chemistry invariably goes with experiments..

LOl on ur movie reference... good chemistry or bad chemistry?

which chemistry are we talking about here? ;p

but it was one of our fav subjects at school - teacher yetha mix panna kudhadunu sohlralo athey than mix panni vehdika vehpohm - then innocentah shocked expression kuduhkanum ;p

no love no hate....but i did a lot better in chemistry than all others in exams...

the titrations in the chemistry labs used to be fun... and i think i prefer physical chemistry to the rest

btw, ["I have come up largely with two sections of people: Those who love chemistry and those who hate it."] -- i thought this is true for almost anything :-)

I neither liked Chem nor hated it. I liked organic better than physical chem. Physics was the nightmare of my life, the subject that I still hate the most. I found math more interesting than science actually.

well yeah ur right raju but i liked chemistry.it was much much better than physics which was nothing less than a headache.ironically i got 200 in physics and 199 in chemistry.damn bad luck

I dont love or hate chemistry...

Vis, LOL.. I spoke only about the 'real chemistry' that is taught in school.. :-)

mm... mix panni vedikka vaikkiradhu unda? nalla velai.. neenga further chemistry pannaley.. ;-)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me, mm.. another 'engineer syndrome'.. no love no hate..
---------------------------------------------------------------
Karthik, I loved titrations too.. but sometimes with fingers crossed, to get concordant value.. :-)

About love or hate on a particular subject, I think Chem. would top all..

Vee-jay, chem, physics rendum pidikkatha? appo eppadi s.w/IT-le irukkeenga?

I used to love maths... Thats one subject I used to get close to centem..

Paurna, wow..thats awesome score.. mm.. explains why u are in AU.. :-)

Vanathi, romba nallathu.. :-)

Narayanan, mm....I also like Org chem. and maths the most.. followed by PChem, Inorg chem and physics..

vee-jay, oops..sorry. I saw 'technology' in ur profile and assumed u to be an engineer..

Maths club? Jora arambichudalaamey.. I will write a post on how much my life is entangled with maths (numbers) soon..

God.. how did i miss this post.?
I love chemistry.. my first love was computer science.. when i was late for admissions n could not get it.. i opted for bsc chemistry..later wanted to do msc too.. but then boom in IT made me choose msc IT,,.. I loved chemistry n my chemistry teachers.. Out of 3,organic was the best..inorganic n pysical was nt bad.. equations were exciting n made concepts simpler.. i had a book of chemical equations, tuli n soni.. jus love it so much.. full of balancing equations.. now i have travelled very far from chemistry.. but i love to teach my brother(9th to 10th),.. he also respects me(atleast for chemistry) n asks lots of doubts...

nice pic.. reminds me of my lab.. how many things i broke.. i had to pay the highest amt of 800 bucks as breakage fees when i left the college..

Ramya, U r a (partial) chemist, huh? Interesting.. :)

Yeah I remember Tuli n Soni book.. For me too organic was the fav, which made me choose that for my PhD..

I wasnt much of a breaker during B.Sc.. but a few months ago, I broke a small piece of glass from a costly equipment, which would cost over 500$.. My boss is all red over that.. Breaking illama chemistry-ya? :)
